Shipping policy

There are two kinds of items for sale on this site: digital goods and physical goods (mostly books). Here’s how they’ll get to you: 

Digital Goods

All ebooks and audiobooks are delivered through a service called BookFunnel. Within minutes of your purchase, if your order includes digital goods, you will receive a separate email from BookFunnel with download links and an explanation of how to get your books. 

It may take a minute or two for the BookFunnel email to arrive. If you still haven’t received it after ten minutes, please check your spam, promotions, and junk folders. 

YOU HAVE 14 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE TO GET YOUR FILES FROM BOOKFUNNEL. Please don’t wait too long to claim your files, or the link will expire. 

YOUR PURCHASED DIGITAL BOOKS AND AUDIOBOOKS WILL BE DELIVERED TO THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS YOU USED TO MAKE YOUR PURCHASE. Please make sure to check the email account you used to purchase in order to get your stuff, if it’s different from your usual email address. 

Getting your digital purchases from BookFunnel is very easy. All you have to do is to click a big button in their email and follow the simple instructions. BookFunnel will give you several options for how to read or listen, and you can also download the raw files if you would like. If you plan on buying directly from me or other authors on a regular basis, I strongly suggest using the BookFunnel app to read and listen to your ebooks and audiobooks. It just makes things easier and tidier. 

As mentioned in the bold text above, your BookFunnel download link is only available for 14 days. However, once you follow the link and claim your files, BookFunnel will keep those files in your BookFunnel library indefinitely regardless of whether you read/listen in their app, download the files, or read/listen any other way. If you’ve ever downloaded anything from BookFunnel, you have a BookFunnel account under the email address you use to make purchases, and all your stuff will stay there after you claim it — not just those 14 days.

Physical Goods 

All print books sold on this site are print-on-demand, created and then drop-shipped from my printer, Lulu. For more information about the policies that come with print on demand, please see my Return and Refund Policy linked at the bottom of any page on this site. 

One important thing to know is that all books require a production window of 3-5 days before they can be shipped. Therefore, it will take an additional 3-5 days for your order to reach you in addition to shipping times. 

Shipping times vary widely from country to country, but it generally takes a week or two for most locations inside and outside of the US. If it’s been 3 weeks and you still don’t have your book, feel free to email me at johnny@johnnybtruant.com.

All delivery methods I offer include tracking. There is a link to track your order in your receipt email, but keep in mind that actual tracking numbers can’t be provided until your order ships … and per the above, that will take around 3-5 days because the book needs too e printed first. You will be notified when your order ships and a tracking number is available.

Address Accuracy

Your order will ship to the address you provide. That means that if you enter your address wrong, I can’t be responsible for your stuff going to the wrong place … or into mail limbo. 

Other Factors

It’s possible that other factors — such as customs delays, natural disasters, and delivery restrictions — may delay your order. Orders affected by such delays may take as long as 6 weeks to arrive.

My country isn’t listed. Can you still ship to me?

Probably! Shipping is hard as hell to manage, so I only created shipping for the areas in which my books are most popular so I wouldn’t pull my hair out trying to cover the entire world. If you live in a country that I’m not currently supporting, email me at johnny@johnnybtruant.com and chances are good that I can add a shipping option for that country. (Just know that it might be crazy expensive. Some countries are, some aren’t.)

Can I get my books faster? Is express shipping available? 

First of all, thanks for your enthusiasm! It’s flattering that you’d want my books as quickly as possible. 

The answer to the question is maybe. As with the above, just email me and ask. YES, there are often faster shipping choices out there, but in most cases I chose not to offer them because they’re insanely expensive. Also, please keep in mind that ALL book orders are subject to a 3-5 day production time. This production time, in which the books are actually printed, cannot be expedited. If you opt for extra-fast shipping, know that you will need to wait those 3-5 days no matter what. 

Customs and duties

I collect and remit VAT when applicable, but knowing the applicability and cost of customs and duties — which are often added on top of taxes, and must be paid by the recipient — are incredibly complex from the sender’s end. For this reason, I cannot know whether your order will be subject to such additional taxes or duties, and it is your responsibility to determine whether shipments from the USA will be charged. Note that if such duties apply, the relevant authorities will not allow you to receive your order. In addition, I cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred by you or another recipient due to shipment failure or late delivery.

Special addresses

Packages shipped military APO / FPO and diplomatic DPO addresses must use US Postal Service shipping. Express shipping cannot be used. To ensure your order is sent via USPS, make sure the country chosen at the shipping step is the United States of America.

Please note that we do support shipments addressed to Armed Forces Europe, Armed Forces Pacific, and Armed Forces America. Select the option that best fits your Armed Forces shipping destination.

Before ordering for delivery to correctional facilities, please take a moment to learn of any specific delivery restrictions. For example, correctional facilities typically do not allow coil-bound books and require delivery via mail. Note: If an order is returned from a correctional facility, I will not refund or reorder it.
